The Robert Cray Band at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center

The Robert Cray Band at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center

Open ears and an open mind are the essence of singer, guitarist and songwriter Robert Cray’s approach to writing, recording and playing music. He has created a sound that rises from American roots and arrives today both fresh and familiar. In just over 40 years, Cray and his band have recorded 20 studio releases, 15 of which have been on the Billboard charts, and played concert halls, festivals and arenas around the world. There are five Grammys® with Cray’s name on them and he has a suitcase full of W.C. Handy blues awards. Cray was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame at the age of 57 and is one of the youngest living legends to receive that prestigious honor.

With five Grammy® awards, millions of record sales and thousands of sold out performances, rock blues icon Robert Cray is considered one of the greatest guitarists of his generation.

Tanasi Photographing the Mountain Landscape

Join Tanasi Arts & Heritage Center as we journey through the Functional Artways of Appalachia over the next year.

Creating an inspiring, even stunning, mountain landscape image requires a bit of know-how, but it isn't magic. Many think it takes extraordinary creative talent and  countless years of practice and experience, but they’re  wrong. At this event, David Ramsey, professional outdoor photographer, will share his tried and true techniques and tips. The skills you learn will enable you to capture the beauty of our Southern Appalachian Highlands that will be sure to create memories to last a lifetime.

Please bring a camera or a cell phone with a camera to capture your own mountain landscape!
