Home Free is bringing all new music and production, and more country and holiday favorites as they come to town in “A Country Christmas Tour.”  The 5-man band has become known for their show-stopping performances that mix their signature no-instrument, all-vocal music with their quick-witted humor.

Home Free continues A Country Christmas in 2018, bringing the slam-dunk smashing success of a show to new cities, on the back of the success of the first and second tours in 2016 and 2017.  The show brings music from the Billboard  #2 Full Of (Even More) Cheer, released in November 2016.

Home Free has become a household name, amassing more than 185 million YouTube views, and entertaining more than 300,000 people live in concert since bursting on the national scene in 2013.

Their fourth studio album, Timeless, debuted at the  #2 spot on the Billboard Country Albums chart. This release marks the 4th consecutive Top 5 Billboard debut for their album.

The glorious sights and sounds of the season will be a great start to your Christmas festivities as the Milligan music department presents its annual Christmas concert. The performance will feature choirs, the orchestra and the organ in the beautifully decorated Mary B. Martin Auditorium of Seeger Memorial Chapel. The evening will include a carol sing-along and will conclude with a moving candle-lighting and singing of “Silent Night.” The concert is free, but an offering with a suggested donation of $5 will be taken to benefit the college’s music program.

Credited among today’s most spectacular voices, David Phelps is blessed with a seemingly endless vocal range extending more than three octaves. Perhaps best known as the powerful tenor for the multiple Grammy® and Dove Award-winning Gaither Vocal Band, Phelps is constantly building on a career that has already been groundbreaking. Emerging as a leading voice in Contemporary Christian music, Phelps has been winning the hearts of audiences all over the world for more than two decades.

This David Phelps’ Christmas event is one of a dozen Phelps and his 7-piece musical entourage will make during the month of December.  Many of the songs featured during this exciting evening are included on Phelps’ O Holy Night recording from the upbeat “Hallelujah,” to the soaring, “O Holy Night.” The evening will also include songs from his Hymnal recording, which showcases masterful vocals and lush arrangements of such cherished gems as “Amazing Grace,” “How Great Thou Art,” “In The Garden,” “Victory In Jesus,” and “It Is Well With My Soul.” Each song takes the listener on a journey of inspiration and worship in song.

Emerge Virtual Training

Women’s Professional Virtual Training on 5 Levels of Leadership

BRISTOL, Tenn. – “YOU MUST KNOW WHERE YOU ARE, TO KNOW WHERE YOU ARE GOING.” According to John C. Maxwell’s 5 Levels of Leadership. Women who register will identify how their leadership is helping those around them and how it can be enhanced to bring better value to themselves and others. YWCA Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia will host a virtual training as this year’s final session of Emerge for professional women.

Emerge is a female focused, quarterly series created to meet the needs of professional women at all levels of their career. Experts in a variety of fields empower women with new tools that directly apply to their work.

The upcoming training this December 5 will be held online so that women from all around the country can benefit from this leadership training. Participants will learn how to maximize their potential through the 5 Levels of Leadership workshop. Attendees will be able to determine at which level of leadership they are presently working, Identify how their leadership is influencing others, and adopt this leadership philosophy to be a more understanding and effective leader.

Peg Ayers, MBA, CCXP, is the founder of Ayers & Company Consulting LLC in Damascus, VA, and a Senior Consultant for the Taylor Reach Group of Toronto.  She has led large Customer Service Centers for more than 25 years, improving processes, managing change, and engaging employees to bring out their best and create stellar results for the organization.  Peg’s experience includes leading centers for OfficeMax, Office Depot, Grand & Toy, Cendant, Affinion Group and Aegis Communications.  Peg is a certified John Maxwell Team speaker and teacher, is Secretary/Treasurer of Wolf Hills Toastmasters and has earned her Customer Experience Professional Certificate (CCXP).  Peg has a talent for building staff loyalty, high integrity, and a gift for developing leaders with great skills and abilities.

The library will create this cozy atmosphere for adults on Wednesday, December 12 from 6-8 p.m. You'll find a cocoa and tea bar, a selection of books, and a quiet room to read. There will also be space to work on your holiday craft projects or cards. Attendees are invited to dress for comfort and bring their coziest blanket!
