Johnson City Public Library is hosting the annual Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale from October 26-28 in the library’s Jones Meeting Room. The sale will be open to the public on Saturday, October 27 from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. The sale continues on Sunday, October 28 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. as a special all-you-can-carry sale, in which people pay a flat $5.00 for as many books as they can fit in any bag. There will be paper bags available for people who do not bring bags with them.
The sale features thousands of books, audiobooks, DVDs, and music albums that have been donated. Kathy Hall, Friends of the Johnson City Public Library board president, says, “I love the Friends sale because there are always treasures to be discovered. Nothing makes books lovers happier than finding something they love that they didn’t even know they were looking for.” Along with finding hidden gems, the sale offers people a chance to support their community library. All proceeds from the sale go to furthering the library’s work.
In addition to the Saturday and Sunday sales, Friends of the Library members
are invited to a special preview book sale on Friday, October 26 from 6:00-8:00
p.m. Friends of the Library is a volunteer group dedicated to the welfare and
promotion of the library.
