(JOHNSON CITY, TENN.) The Chamber of Commerce, serving Johnson City, Jonesborough and Washington County, has announced the hiring of Hope Lewis as its new Director of Young Professional & Workforce Development. Hope will begin her new role on August 12.

Lewis will lead the Young Professionals of Johnson City program, a program of the Chamber Foundation that focuses on providing community and professional development for 21 to 40-year-olds through events and programs. Lewis will also curate new workforce development opportunities that connect college students and higher education partners to the business community through internships, trainings and an ETSU Young Professionals group, YP On Campus.

“I am thrilled to be joining the talented Chamber team,” said Lewis. “As a young professional who is not a native of the area, I know how important community and professional relationship-building skills are, and I look forward to finding new ways to provide those opportunities.”

Lewis moved to Johnson City in February of 2022, after working in higher education and tourism marketing fields, when her husband began a new job with ETSU. Since then, Lewis has worked in marketing and communications roles with ETSU, Ballad Health and most recently LPI, Inc., where she was the Creative Content Manager. Lewis holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing from Mercer University and a Master’s in Mass Communications from the University of South Carolina, bringing an impressive education and experience in communications, event-planning and community development.

“Hope will undoubtedly take our YP program to new heights,” said Chamber President/CEO Bob Cantler. “She knows how to bring people together and how to market communities, and we are eager to see her aid our young business and community leaders in their leadership journeys.”
